Welcome! I am a PhD Candidate in Political Science at Temple University and a 2024-2025 USIP-Minerva Peace and Security Scholar. I am also currently a Research Fellow of the Local Research Network for the Cross-Border Conflict, Evidence, Policy, Trends Programme (XCEPT), affiliated with the Asia Foundation and the Malcolm H. Kerr Carnegie Middle East Center.

My research focuses on non-traditional security issues related to borders, conflict, mobility, and identity, particularly in Africa and the Mediterranean Basin. Specifically, my dissertation explores the relationship between smuggling as a tool for rebel governance and the production of violence in the Sahel region. To that end, I have conducted fieldwork in Algeria, Mali, and France. I held visiting research positions at the African Union Counter Terrorism Centre (AUCTC) and the Centre for Political Research at Sciences Po (CEVIPOF)

Prior to starting my PhD, I received my MA in International Security from the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po, a Master’s Certificate in National Defense and Security from the French Institute of Higher Studies in National Defense (IHEDN), and my BA from Sciences Po.

My work has been supported by the United States Institute of Peace, the United States Department of Defense, the XCEPT Programme, the Center for the Study of Force and Diplomacy and the Global Studies Program at Temple University, as well as the Fulbright Program.
